Aimee is one of Peak Support’s highly reliable service delivery directors. When she wants to relax, she listens to smooth jazz songs from artists such as Lou Pardini, Joe Pizzulo, and David Benoit, and 70’s and 80’s R&B music. Aimee considers the Sony sound bar she bought as her best gift to herself. She stays cool in the summer by making delicious homemade popsicles and staying indoors with the AC on winter mode. Aimee is the youngest of three children, and describes herself to be fun-loving, helpful, and independent. The one person she looks forward to seeing the most after the pandemic is her best friend Jill. If money wasn't an issue, she would much rather take care of stray/rescue dogs and build a house for them that comes complete with a nice pool and a big lawn filled with chew toys. What is the most useful life skill to have?
Cooking! If there's one thing this pandemic has taught me is that cooking is such an essential life skill. Thank heavens for YouTube, as it has given me the chance to learn different cuisines. I think you can learn a lot about a country's culture through its food.
Which band do you think should have won a Grammy but didn’t?
Queen! Can you believe it? There are just too many great songs from this group, and not one Grammy! I remember watching Bohemian Rhapsody and having their songs on repeat until people in our house started complaining.
When is it not a good time to bother you?
When I'm sleeping, especially during weekdays! Sleep is so sacred for me. I know that I am at my best when I can get eight hours of sleep, so I really try to do just that. When I'm at work, I am always available and reaching out to me is never a bother.
How do you handle conflict?
I usually listen to both parties and ensure they can explain and air their sides calmly. A resolution is typically achieved after talking it out with clear heads.
What word do you almost always misspell?
Strength. I don't know why!
On a scale of 1 to 10, how easily frightened are you?
Maybe an 8. I can only watch horror films if it's daytime or if I'm with someone. I remember not being able to sleep without some light on after watching Feng Shui (a 2014 Philippine supernatural horror film.) That movie scarred me for life. I don't think I've ever watched a horror film after that.
Can you share a fast food horror story?
I once found a coin in a bowl of soup we took home. It was too late when I discovered it as I had already ingested almost all the contents of the bowl. Needless to say, that was the last time we ordered from that restaurant's branch.
What’s something that can instantly make your day better?
A nice cup of coffee, my dogs, and a good bowl of Ramen.
Have any of your birthday wishes come true?
Yes! There was a time when I wished for a good job, that came true. I also wished for a job promotion, got it as well. And a Friends (American television sitcom) reunion is already underway, so another birthday wish from years ago is finally coming true soon.
How many times do you press the snooze button before getting out of bed?
Maybe five times and only get up 15 minutes before I need to be at my desk. But then a very wise friend told me not to set any alarms and just let my body dictate when I will wake up. I've been doing that ever since, and that has really helped me feel rested when I wake up. Note, I have never been late to work since I tried skipping alarms so it's probably working.
What’s something that you just can’t get enough of?
Friends reruns! I watch it when I'm bored, I watch it when I need the distraction, and I watch it when I need to lighten my mood. Thank God for Netflix!
I laugh the hardest when _____.
I am with my friends.
If you could write a novel, what would the story be about?
Something about dogs. Maybe something like "The Art of Racing in the Rain." I'm a sucker for movies or novels about dogs.
What’s a fun song to sing while washing the dishes?
"Leave The Door Open" by Bruno Mars! I think I'm going to be singing that song for a long time.
Who has inspired you to become the person you are today?
My father. He has inspired me to become a better daughter, a better friend, a better sister, a better employee, and a better member of society. He's also inspired me to work hard, play hard, and laugh hard. He taught me that there are no shortcuts to success, but that nothing is impossible with determination and hard work.
