Peak Support Q&A: Kathleen Egger

Peak Support Q&A: Kathleen Egger

Kath is just one of the many supermoms at Peak Support. Her ability to juggle work and family life with poise and grace is what makes her truly admirable. The colors blue and green are her favorites because they remind her of the ocean and nature. Kath is quite the thrill-seeker, having gone on exciting adventures such as skydiving and freediving. But what you may not know is that she has a fear of small spaces. Which is why she hasn’t gone on any spelunking or caving activities just yet. But don’t let this amazing woman’s petite frame fool you. Kath is a big fan of staying fit and one of the ways she does it is by boxing. Read this fun Agent Q&A blog to learn more about Kath.

What place have you always wanted to visit but have never had the chance to?

I've always wanted to go to Coron, Palawan. It's been a long time goal of mine to dive through the underwater passages, otherworldly reefs, and ghastly wrecks. Basking in the lounge area on fine, powdery white sand beaches is a must-do too when in Coron.

What’s something that you’ve been able to check off your bucket list?

Skydiving! It was just a tandem dive, but I did jump out of the plane at 10,000 feet. It was 100% of pure adrenaline!

If you could tell your child something about the world, what would it be?

I'll let her know that "The world is a book, and if you do not explore or travel, you only read a page of it." There's just a lot of sights to see, people to meet, stories to share, and knowledge to learn. She will not achieve these if she's stuck in one place.

What do people usually ask your help for?

I am the go-to person when people need help with their travels. They ask me if we can go to a specific tourist spot and when I say "yes," that automatically means I am organizing the trip - from booking the hotels, coming up with the travel itinerary, and setting the budget. I'm like travel agency basically.

What simple things do you do to make your day a better one?

I sweat it out! Whether it's boxing, running or a simple home workout. A good sweat takes the stress away!

What topic/issue could you give a presentation on with zero preparation?

How to change a baby's diaper. I mean not everyone can do this with poise, so I'd love to show and teach them how.

Who was your favorite teacher in high school?

Miss Burgador, my English teacher. She was friendly and polite. One time she called my classmate's mother "ma'am," and the parent asked why she called her that instead of just calling her by "inday"(a Cebuano term which means a young girl or a female in general. But it can also be used sometimes in a demeaning manner, depending on the tone. ) like the rest. She replied, "Because everyone deserves to be respected."

If you could take your family on an exciting adventure, where would you take them and what fun activities will you do?

I'll take my parents and brother to Tokyo Disneyland. They were not able to travel so much in the past, so if I can, I'd like take them to one of the happiest places on Earth. I want them to enjoy being a child again and see the smiles on their faces.

What are your top five travel tips?

1. Pack light. 2. Bring cash and some IDs. 3. Travel on less popular days. 4. Get out from behind the camera. It's not all about taking photos. 5. Eat. Experience. Enjoy!

What movie have you always wanted to watch but just haven’t had the time to?

I've always wanted to watch "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," and the rest of the sequels. I'm not really into reading which is why I'm curious. I just want to understand why the movies, as well as the books, were such a hit.

Who is your real-life hero?

My mom! She's the most selfless person I know. I wouldn't have become the woman I am today if it weren't for all that she did for me.

What’s your favorite smell or scent?

My current favorite is Bubble Gum by Baby Bench. My daughter wears this scent.

Who is the most disorganized person you know and why?

Me! I practice the art of  'organized chaos.' It may be a mess to everybody, but never to me.

What’s something that women can do so well that men would fail miserably at?

I honestly don't know. I never really thought one was better than the other. I believe in equality.

What do you think is the longest that you can survive without your phone/iPad/laptop?

I can manage to be off my phone for 2 hours while I work out. The rest of the time, I spend scrolling on social media apps.

If you could open your very own restaurant, what types of cuisines will you serve?

I will be serving unlimited Samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) and Korean Cuisine.

If you could change one thing in your past, what would it be and why?

Nothing. I was not and won't ever be perfect. But I am happy and content with who I am today.

Which trait/ability from an animal would you like to have for yourself and why?

I would love to have the Axolotl's ability to regenerate limbs and organs. Imagine being a real-life Wolverine!

Which Disney princess are you and why?

I'm Merida from the movie Brave. Like her, I am dauntless, impulsive, stubborn, and independent.

What’s the silliest thing you ever did for a high school crush?

I intentionally failed one of my subjects so we could be classmates. He was my first boyfriend too, so I guess it worked.

Who would you like to sit next to on a 20-hour long flight?

No one. I don’t really want to talk to anyone for that long. Small talk is good but I'd rather sleep.

The greatest thing about motherhood is _____.

The outburst of love and joy! I never knew that I could love someone else this much until I had my daughter.
