Bianca or Bee, currently serves as the Director of Operations at Peak SupportWhen asked what she was like as a child, Bee says that she was a strong-willed little girl who was equipped with a vivid imagination, and a girl who learned to be responsible for herself at an early age. She’s a sucker for family movies and finds it almost impossible to control herself from watching “Coco” over and over again. Bee was raised by her parents to be independent, so she goes through life with a “no one will do the work for you” mindset. If she could, she would take Michelle Obama out for coffee and have a conversation with the former US first lady. Bee considers her husband JM her hero, as he often carries anything that weighs over 10 pounds for her. Get to know Bee a little better in this month’s Peak Support Q&A blog.

What hobby of yours do you wish more people would try?

Maybe it isn’t a popular hobby, but I love trying new things. Right now, I am learning how to play the piano. If more people can develop a fondness for learning new things, the world will probably have less people stuck browsing through their social media newsfeeds.

Do you have a favorite rainy day beverage?

Im not really a coffee person but when it rains, I always crave for a nice cup of hot mocha

If you could rewind one memory every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It’s impossible to choose just one. I got married, had two kids, went to beautiful Palawan, had several happy family events - and all of them happened on different dates.

How would you describe yourself to a person you just met?

Im an over-thinker. If you have something to say, or want me to do - be straightforward. I often feel anxious if there are things I cannot fully understand, so I dislike vague and flowery language.

Whats the one dessert that you just can’t say no to?

Ice cream with fudge brownie and almonds! I love brownies and almonds. When I need a dessert fixthis totally hits the spot. 

Does bad customer service greatly affect a brand or product?

Absolutely! Customer service is in direct measure with the brand. Whether you are perceived to have poor service or you really have bad customer service, both can lead to a negative brand image.

Is there a foreign language that you wish you were fluent in?

French! Emily in Paris aside, I want to make sure that when I go to France I can avoid disasters such as failing to order the right food or getting the wrong direction.

What stresses you out?

Setting very high standards for myself. I often expect myself to do things right all the time. So when things don’t go my way, I usually feel stressed. I am blessed though to be surrounded by such amazing people who constantly remind me to not to always beat myself up. 

At what age would you like to retire?

In all honesty, if I could retire tomorrow I would. I'd spend the rest of my days BBQing, swimming, spending time with my family, practicing the piano, and maybe traveling around Japan.

  • Family first. 
  • Surround yourself with supportive people. 
  • Take mental health seriously. 
  • Always be thankful and grateful. 
  • Spend less money than what you make. 

What’s something that you and your friends always agree on?

FOOD! 

Do you have a lucky charm that you almost always carry with you?

Luck is believing you’re lucky. I do not have a physical charm nor do I think I will ever have one. I strongly believe that we attract luck and all the good/bad things. Your thoughts become reality. I think this is the very reason why it rains after you wash your car. You are attracting the energy of the universe to rain just by simply thinking of it.

How organized are you?

Very organized. One thing I’d like to share is how I organize our bills. I have a list of things we need to pay in cash and bills I can pay online (tuition, cards, utilities, etc.). I divide a month’s bill into 4 weeks so I have the money ready ahead of the invoice. Those that I need to pay in cash - I keep on labeled envelopes, and those I can pay online - I submit virtually every week. On top of this, I have all household cashflow on a spreadsheet.

Name one thing that you just can’t leave the house without.

My watch. Aside from I cannot leave the house without it, I also cannot sleep without it. I don’t get the luxury of sleeping straight and I usually get disrupted in the middle of my sleep. When that happens, I need to see the time so I can go back and sleep some more.
